Patient 3: Mild Motor Involvement

This patient has what we consider mild involvement. Notice this patient has fairly good control before surgery. After surgery he is even better. These subtle changes can make activities of daily living much more automatic. For an active young athlete keeping up with his peers, these improvements make his function easier and more spontaneous. Notice that although he could bring his wrist up somewhat before surgery, he often used it in the flexed (bent down) position. After surgery, he is able to keep his wrist stable in the neutral (middle position) during a task and place his thumb in a better position for fine motor tasks
